Mike De Decker and Michael van Gerwen in action at the Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy

In less than two weeks, the world’s elite darts players will travel to Antwerp for the second edition of the Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy (August 29-31). Alongside Mike De Decker, Dutch top players Michael van Gerwen and Dirk van Duijvenbode will also be heading to Antwerp Expo.

The very first edition of the Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy, an official PDC European Tour event, was unforgettable. No fewer than 287 one-hundred-and-eighties were thrown, and the Belgian crowd created an unforgettable atmosphere.

It promises to be even better in 2025. Antwerp will host the world’s best darts players for three days. Belgium’s honor will be represented by Mike De Decker, the highest-ranked Belgian on the PDC World Ranking.

The Dutch darts players are having a strong season and will be aiming for victory in Antwerp. “Mighty Mike” Michael van Gerwen, the runner-up world champion, will undoubtedly be looking to make a splash close to home. Dirk van Duijvenbode will also be heading to Antwerp at the end of August.

But the competition from across the Channel will be strong. Former world champions Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price have confirmed their attendance at Antwerp Expo, and other top players like Jonny Clayton and James Wade will also be there. More world-class names will follow in the course of next week…

HOST NATION QUALIFIER

Besides Mike De Decker, at least four other Belgians will be in the main draw of the Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy. These four come from the Host Nation Qualifier, which will be played behind closed doors on Thursday, August 28th. Dimitri Van den Bergh, Kim Huybrechts, Andy Baetens, and Mario Vandenbogaerde have already confirmed their participation in the Qualifier.
